Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the PickyPlaces mobile application (the "App"). By installing or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.

1. Who Can Use the App

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required to consent to data processing in your country) to use the App. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials safe and for all activity that happens under your account.

2. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Post content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, violent, or infringes anyone's rights
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the App's services
• Use the App to send spam or unsolicited messages
• Share party codes with the intent to harass or bully others

We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms and to suspend or terminate accounts responsible for the violation.

3. User-Generated Content

You retain ownership of ratings, party names, and other content you create in the App ("Your Content"). You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display, and distribute Your Content within the App solely so the App can function (for example, showing your rating to other members of your party).

You are solely responsible for Your Content and whether it complies with these Terms and applicable law.

4. Reporting Objectionable Content

If you encounter a party name, display name, or visit entry that is offensive, abusive, or otherwise violates these Terms, tap the Report option in the App. We review reports and will take appropriate action, including removing content and suspending accounts within 24 hours where warranted.

5. Third-Party Services

The App uses Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In, the Google Places API, and Firebase (Google). Your use of those services is also subject to their terms and privacy policies.

6. Restaurants and External Links

Restaurant listings are provided by Google Places and are for informational purposes only. We don't operate any restaurant, don't guarantee accuracy of hours / prices / ratings, and aren't responsible for your experience at any venue.

When you tap Get Directions the App hands off to Apple Maps, Google Maps, or Waze depending on what you choose. Those apps have their own terms.

7. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time from the Profile tab. We may terminate or suspend your account if you violate these Terms or if required by law.

Upon deletion we permanently remove your personal data as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY UNDER THESE TERMS IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID FOR THE APP IN THE PRECEDING 12 MONTHS (WHICH, FOR A FREE APP, IS ZERO).

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes we'll update the "Last updated" date and notify you in the App. Your continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
